We’re thrilled to welcome Evelyn Robinson to MAREC Action as our new Director of PJM Affairs. With deep experience in electricity markets and a strong commitment to clean energy, Evelyn brings expertise, energy, and fresh perspective to the team.

Question #1: What is your role at MAREC Action and what will you be working on?
I lead our advocacy within PJM and its stakeholder groups, ensuring utility-scale clean energy has a strong voice. That includes building strategic relationships with PJM, our members, regulators, and other clean energy allies. I’ll also advance long-term transmission planning aligned with FERC’s Order 1920 and work closely with Sari Fink on fair capacity market rules. Collaboration is a big part of this role—internally and across the PJM landscape.
Question #2: What attracted you to this position?
MAREC’s mission to expand renewable energy mirrors my personal values. I believe in protecting the environment while ensuring a reliable, affordable grid. And honestly—everyone in this industry wants to work with Sari!
Question #3: Can you share a bit about your previous experience?
I hold a J.D. from The Ohio State University and have spent most of my career in the energy sector. I started at the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel advocating for residential ratepayers and later developed policy for a large retail electric supplier. At PJM, I served as liaison to consumer advocates, Organization of PJM States, Inc. (OPSI), environmental groups, and state leaders—translating complex market and planning issues across stakeholders.
Question #4: What skills are you most excited to bring to your new role?
I bring deep knowledge of PJM’s wholesale electricity markets, stakeholder processes, and decision-making structure. I’ve developed strong relationships with key players across the PJM community, and I’m eager to leverage those connections to amplify MAREC Action’s voice and influence.
Question #5: What are you looking forward to learning or contributing to your first few months?
I’m eager to get to know my MAREC colleagues and member companies better. I look forward to engaging with PJM leaders and learning more about developer business models—especially how storage can play a bigger role in the security of the grid. I’m also diving into Order 1920—it’s a major moment for the grid, and we need to get it right.
Question #6: What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I love spending quality time with family and friends, playing pickleball, watching tennis, volunteering with a community action agency, and traveling with my husband Robert.
Question #7: One word your friends would use to describe you?
They’d say one word isn’t enough! But some regular descriptors include genuine, trustworthy, compassionate, and engaging.
Question #8: Share one of your favorite quotations.
“It’s all about relationships, or it ain’t about nothing.” The grammar might not be perfect, but the principle is.
Question #9: What is your favorite vacation?
Tough to choose! Our honeymoon in Maui and Oahu was stunning. But I’ll also say: my next vacation—wherever and whenever it is—is my new favorite in waiting.
