On February 13th, MAREC Action hosted nearly 100 attendees at the first Kentucky Solar and Storage Summit in Frankfort, KY. The event brought together legislators, state officials, labor representatives, landowners, interested members of the public, and the utility-scale solar and storage industry for informative panel sessions and an evening reception. The successful event highlighted the growth of solar and storage in Kentucky in recent years, a discussion of policy topics impacting the industry such as setbacks and decommissioning rules, and the benefit of utility-scale solar for farmers and landowners. MAREC Action thanks all of our sponsors for this event and we look forward to continuing to advocate for solar and storage in Kentucky!
MAREC Action’s Deputy Director Evan Vaughan and Clark County landowner Gary Witt, who spoke on a panel about his experience leasing his farm for a utility-scale solar project, gave interviews at the Summit to local public television network KET (interviews begin @ 14:40).
